All Day Movie Day

Every once in a while, I decide to see how many movies that I can view in the theatre in one day. I have had three such all-day-movie-days so far.

11:00am Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events Raleigh Grande
1:30pm Meet The Fockers Raleigh Grande
    3:30pm The Incredibles Raleigh Grande
    6:15pm Ocean's Twelve Raleigh Grande
    8:30pm National Treasure Raleigh Grande

Greg, Nick, Doug, and I attended all the movies on this day. We decided to skip the breakfast at Brigg's since we were getting an "early" start at Raleigh Grande. Fortunately, this time there were enough movies all at one theatre that we did not mind seeing. I had seen The Incredibles before, but certainly did not mind seeing it again! I loved it both times! My other favorite movie of the day was Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. Meet The Fockers was ok, but very similar to the first movie. Ocean's Twelve was disappointing and not nearly as great as the first one! National Treasure seemed like a movie that should be better, but it really wasn't. It was entertaining, but laughably bad in parts.

    11:30am Shrek 2 Raleigh Grande
1:45pm The Day After Tomorrow Raleigh Grande
    4:25pm 13 Going On 30 Raleigh Grande
    7:00pm I'm Not Scared Rialto
    9:40pm Monster Raleighwood

Greg, Doug, Melissa, Jason, Ashley, and Rob all played a part in the all day movie day with me this time. We started the day with breakfast at Briggs - yum! The first 3 movies were conveniently in the same theatre. Shrek 2 was probably my favorite movie of the day. The Day After Tomorrow was disappointing, but at least we did not have high expectations for it based on reviews that we had heard. I'm Not Scared was one that none of us had heard of previously, but it ended up being pretty good. Monster was a good movie, but quite disturbing. I do not plan to see it again! 13 Going On 30 was as expected for me - not a great movie, but entertaining nonetheless. It is generally impossible to schedule this many movies in a day without having to see some that you wouldn't normally see!

12:00pm Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers Raleigh Grande
    4:15pm xXx Blueridge
    7:15pm The Transporter Blueridge
10:30pm Gangs of New York Crossroads

Scott and Ryan joined me for all movies on the first all day movie day. We knew that we wanted to see both Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and Gangs of New York since none of us had seen either movie yet. The other two movies just happened to fit into the schedule. We learned that scheduling all day movie day is quite a task and involves complicated timetables and spreadsheets! We were only able to fit four movies into the day considering that two movies were quite long!! It was a late night since we started Gangs of New York at 10:30pm. Of course, my favorite movie of the day was Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers followed by xXx (which I liked way more than I thought I would)! I was disappointed by Gangs of New York, but it didn't get a fair shot considering how late it was when it started and how tired we were from sitting in the theatre all day! We managed to get a bite to eat at Wendy's between the first two movies. Between xXx and The Transporter, we grabbed some junk food from K-Mart. We had a meal at Gypsy's Shiny Diner just before Gangs of New York.
