What's his story?
Brian joined the group a few months after it was formed when he randomly met other poker group members at a tournament in "the land of the elves." He gave them his contact information at the tournament and has been a regular in the game ever since. Brian is a frequent attendee on the poker excursions and tends to extend his trips longer than the rest of the group whenever possible. Brian receives the award for most likely to move to Vegas out of the regulars in the group.

Casino Poker Games of Choice
Brian's games vary throughout each trip depending on his mood. He's known to play low limit HE and $1-2 NL. He also is a big fan of large tournaments so enters satellites (trying to win his way into large buy-in tournaments such as WSOP and WPT events) more often than other poker group members.

Poker Leaks
Brian has the most varied set of leaks than all the other poker group members. If one can place a wager on it, then it is a leak for him. In the past he has bet on, at a minimum: basketball (college and NBA), football (college, CFL, NFL, Arena and XFL), baseball, NASCAR, golf, tennis, horseracing, jai lai, soccer, and hockey. He's played most of the casino table games and remains fond of craps and blackjack. While generally avoiding slots, Brian shares Kerry's fondness for the Wheel of Fortune slot machine and was disappointed that they did not have any at Foxwoods as well.

Poker Pet Peeves
  • Players who don't show both cards in a reasonable amount of time when it is their turn to show.
  • Every time he gets short-stacked and waits through hand after hand of 36o, 29o, 38o, etc. to finally see a decent hand, some donkey always wakes up with AA, KK, QQ or AK.

  • Online Poker
Brian is currently active online at Party and Pokerroom. As with his live play, Brian plays a varied schedule including: limit, no limit, pot limit and tournament HE, as well as occasionally dabbling in Omaha 8 or better.

    Casino Tournament Finishes
    August 2004: Tropicana (AC) 18th of 180 $236.
July 2005 : RIO (Vegas) Cashed in both single table satellites he played at the 2005 WSOP.
August 2005 Foxwoods (CT) Placed in top 2 of WPT Act II at Foxwoods to advance to Act III.

    Other Tournament News
One of Brian's recent hobbies has been trying to win his way into large buy-in tournaments by buying in to the bottom/cheap (free - $6) level of multi-level satellite systems. He has had several close calls including: finishing 3rd of 480 in the finals of a multi-level freeroll (when first won a WSOP package) and multiple times advancing to the final level (of 3 levels) trying to win WSOP and WPT $10k seats for $5 or $6.
