Crockpot Chili

  • 1 pound of ground turkey or beef (precooked in skillet)
  • 1 can black beans
  • 1 can dark red kidney beans
  • 1 can light red kidney beans
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes (with optional seasonings like zesty green chiles)
  • 2 cans tomato sauce (with optional seasonings)
  • 1 green bell pepper chopped coarsely
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped coarsely
  • 1 red onion chopped coarsely
  • 2 cloves garlic minced finely
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • salt to taste
  • Optional other veggies (corn most often, but we've also squash/zucchini)

Cook/crumble the meat in the skillet and throw all ingredients in the crockpot for 8-10 hours on low (or high for 5-6 hours).
