I've only been on one "real" trip to Texas:
NC State Football in Austin in 1999
Several former members of the trombone section decided to take a trip see NC State play Texas in football in August of 1999. In addition to attending the game, which we miraculously won, we toured around Austin and San Antonio. We saw the Alamo and got lost in the Riverwalk. We went to Rudy's for the World's Worst BBQ. We made up songs about the Taco Cabana (which starts a littls something like "It's the Taco, Taco Cabana, the best tacos outside of Montan-ya." sung to Copa Cabana, of course. It also includes the genius line "Taco, burrito - HEY! - why don't we go to the...taco, taco cabaaaaanaaaa"). We were taught the words to "Texas Bites" by a Texas Tech fan. Sung to the Texas fight song: "Texas Bites, Texas Bites, Texas jumps up and bites my ass. Texas Bites, Texas Bites, Texas jumps up and bites my ass. B-I-T-E-A-S-S. Texas jumps and bites my ass."
