More details:
This is my first trip to Vegas as a poker player! Now we see Vegas in a whole different light as we spend the majority of our time at the poker tables.

Doug, Brad, Brian, and I played in the Thursday event in the Four Queens Classic and got our first taste of some serious competition. We met several pros and locals in this tournament as it was an official Cardplayer Player of the Year rated event (before the rules changed to require higher buy-ins). One even offered to pay half of my tournament entry for the Friday tournament (which I accepted). None of us cashed in either tournament, but we had a great experience.

We played poker at Mirage, Four Queens, Binions, Plaza, Golden Nugget, Mandalay Bay, Bally's, Excalibur, and Luxor. Whew! We even managed to play the required hours at Mirage to qualify for the poker rate. We decided in the future not to tie ourselves down to one place. We don't want to limit our options!

Greg, Brad, Doug, and I saw Robin Williams at the MGM. It was an expensive show, but I have always wanted to see Robin Williams perform. We had some good laughs. I tried to take some pictures during the show, but none of them turned out very well.

We mostly played low limit hold'em, although I played my first casino no limit ring game at Excalibur with their low-buy-in game. I enjoyed it and was profitable!

I also had an exciting moment as I was playing the quarter Wheel of Fortune machine - I hit the 1000 on the wheel!! I'm a big fan of the WoF slot machines now!
