Christmas in Atlanta photos
Purpose: To visit family for Christmas!
I went to Atlanta for nearly a full week to visit with grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and parents for Christmas.
I arrived in Atlanta on Friday night (December 23rd) a little behind schedule. Seems like my flight is always delayed to Atlanta this time of year. My parents picked me up via Marta at the airport, and we rode back to the Perimeter Mall stop.
On Christmas Eve, we went to visit with my mom's mom at her home. We spent some time with her and saw her new room. We were also able to see Laura, Nik, and Ryan.
Frances, Bill, John Thomas, and Joseph came over to spend Christmas Day at my dad's parents house. My grandparents, parents, and I exchanged our gifts before they arrived. We exchanged more presents with the Bursons after their arrival. For Christmas dinner, we had all sorts of tasty food. Yum!
Monday, I did some shopping at Perimeter mall while my parents played bridge nearby. I ended up finding a free wifi spot across the street from the mall where I was able to get in touch with college buddy Patrick. He's working on his PhD at Georgia Tech. Patrick came by to pick me up, and we had some coffee, did a little shopping, and had dinner before he took me back to my grandparents house. He visited with my family, and we made tentative plans to get together later in the week when his girlfriend would be in town.
Wednesday was my mom's mom's birthday, so we went back over to spend some more time with her. We were able to see my mom's brother, Doug, as well as Nik briefly. We visited with her for a bit, and then picked up some tasty food from Boston Market on the way back to my grandparents house.
Thursday was a busy one as I finally got in touch with Kathy and Karen. Kathy came by the house to pick me up and take me to lunch at McCallister's where my cousin Karen works. Karen joined us after she was finished with her shift, and then Karen and I were able to meet with Laura, Nik, and Rob for some coffee at Starbucks. We went back to my grandparents house where Karen was able to visit with my grandparents for a little while. Patrick and Dana then came by to pick me up for dinner. I had heard Patrick talk about Dana for a while, so it was great to finally meet her!
Friday morning, I had to wake up quite early around 5am so that I could catch Marta to go down to the airport. Dad rode with me, which I appreciated! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to lug my bags around without assistance, and it was great to have the company. The security line moved quickly, and everything went fairly smoothly until they made us deplane to do a "security check" which delayed us a bit coming back.
Overall, it was a great trip with lots of visiting with family!
